Plagiarism

Hi Fifth graders,

We have been learning about plagiarism. Please respond to the following two scenarios:

1. Ms. Moore was writing a paper on her home state of Alaska. She found a great book that was full of interesting and helpful information. When she wrote her paper she put all the information in her own words. Is this plagiarism? EXPLAIN WHY or WHY NOT.

2. Ms. Moore created a new flip chart for a library lesson and inserted a cool picture she found from the Internet. She cited the website where she found the picture. Is there plagiarism? EXPLAIN WHY or WHY NOT.
