Hello 5th Graders. Once you have finished reading your book I would like you to post your comments on the following:
- Describe your favorite scene in the book OR describe the main character.
- Tell whether you would recommend the book to a friend AND why or why not.

The book read was The Candy Shop War. My favorite part in this book was when the kids first discovered the magic candy. I thought that was so cool how the author described it. I would totally recommend this book to people who like mystery, adventure, and a ton of action. If you are going to consider reading this book I should warn you that at parts this book it can be a tad gross at parts, but for the most part the Candy Shop War is a very detailed book.

The book I read was Twenty One ballons. The main character is a ballonest. I cant remember the main characters name, but he hates people. He made a ballon called the Globe. I would recomend this book to people who like adventure books beacuse it is all about adventure.
ReplyDeleteThe book I read was Bud, Not Buddy. My favorite part in the was when Bud the main character thought that Lefty Luis was a vampire. I would recommended this to other freinds because it is a really good and intresting book.

The book I decided to read was Ramona Quimby age 8. The main character is named Ramona Quimby. She is a third grader that is about 8 years old. She has so many expection from her family. Which are; to do well in school and be nice to Willa Jean when she gets babysat at the KEmps house until hwe parents pick her up to go home. My favorite scene is when RAmona asks her mother to put a hard boiled egg in her lunch. Ramona dicides to krack the egg open on her forehead, like everyone else. Her mother gave her a raw egg in stead so she got tons of egg in her hair and had to have the nurse at school wash her hair. I would recomd this book to many people because it has some funny parts and some serious parts, mostly tgis book is super funny and has subspence. I really think people should read this wonderful book!

Hi Ms. Moore! The book i read is Ramona and her father. Ramona is really funny and sometimes she doesn't have a clue on whatever she is doing. Her father is kind of serious on his work but he is fun sometimes too. Ramona's sister, Beezus, is snotty and has an attitude a lot but sometimes she can be nice. Her mother is very mello and calm most of the time but when Ramona and beezus have a fight she doesn't like it at all. i would recomend this book to everyone who likes a funny story with a tinge of sadness. I really think you should do a book talk on this really great book!

Since the last time I have posted, I have decided to change the book I wanted to read. Last time that I posted I said that I had chosen Deep and Dark and Dangerous. After I read the book, I did not have any book to read, so I picked up Harry Potter and the sorcerer's stone. I was amazing! Full of action and secrets! Even though I liked Deep and Dark and Dangerous, I though that Harry Potter and the sorcerer's stone was a little better.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite scene was when Hermione was in the girls bathroom and was crying because Ron had insolted her. The next thin she knew there was a smash and a crash. A troll had came into the girls bathroom and was looking for her! Luckely Harry and Ron heard her scream and knocked the troll out. If you want to find out how you will have to readthe book.
Harry is a poor kid who is treated horriable at his Aunt and Uncles house. When Harry turnes 11 he gets a note from Hogwarts saying that he is able to come. Harry did not know that he was a wizard, because his Aunt and Uncle decided not to tell him that his Mother and Father were wizards. Also that they were killed by the most powerful wizard of their time, Lord Voldimort! In the end his Aunt and Uncle serender and let him go to Hagwarts to learn magic.
I would recomend this book to all of my friends who are finished with their book report book early and are looking for an action packed book. I say this because it was a great pass timer and was a book I could not put down. I was very discriptive and left me wanting to read the next book.

I read the book Marley A Dog Like No Other. My favoite scene in the book was when Marley died. Even though Marley was my favorite character I liked how emotional the author made thae scene. I would recomend this book because it was emotional and had lots of details.

The book I read was The Mysterious Benidict Society and my favorite part is when Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance have to pass the tests so they can go to the Institute. I would reccomend this book to people who like puzzles and brainteasers. This book has tons.

The main characters in Chasing vermeer are Petra and Calder. Calder uses his pentominoes as clues and Petra has dreams that they also use to find the villan. I would recommend this book because it was very suspensful and had a shocking twist.

The book I read was 11 Birthdays.It is about a girl who's best friend with a guy and they get in a big fight . I forgot to mention they have the same birthday. On there eleventh birthday the day kept repeating and they were the only two who know it was happening.This book was really good i would definently recommened it.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite part was when the kids have a big battle scene with the executives of Mr.curtain at he end. I would recomend this book to people who like books with mystery, and suspense. I really liked the book exept it was sad at he ending(sort of).

ReplyDeleteI read an awesome book called Yellow Star. it is non-fiction. It is about a girl named Svyia that is jewish and lives in a ghetto during world warll. Her neice wrote it. Now she would be called Sylivia. It was hard for Svyiua to live and stay alive in the ghetto. Her family members are Papa, Mama, Dora ( her older sisiter), and her self. Many people died in the ghetto and where forced to work for the germans. Many jews where killed before they even went into the ghetto. It was impossible to escape the ghetto. One boy was escaping and bring things back to his family. Half way through the book the boy died. He was shot by a german soldier. The book was sad exciting.

I read "No Talking" by Andrew Clements. I would recommend this book because it has some funny parts in it. My favorite part is when a boy gets a really bad hair cut because he cannot talk to the barber.

ReplyDeleteby Jeff kidney. I would reccomend this book because it is funny and has a lot detail. Also because I couldn't put the book down. The main charecter is Greg Heffley who is in middle school. Greg gets into alot of troble because of his two brothers named Rodrick and Manny. Greg is trying to survive middle with all the bullies.
